6 Steps That Brings You Closer To Your Dream

This article is so close to my heart as I have discussed my personal ideas with the ideas I have learned from some awesome people on YouTube. We all have dreams to achieve in our lives, which don’t happen in a day or two but takes a lot of our time and effort.  

Achieving our dreams can be a long journey and a wonderful process of self-exploration that just makes this journey so special. We need passion, hard work, and patience in this long journey, to make this journey more enjoyable we need to follow a few steps. 

You could be at the start of the journey figuring out what you have to do or you could be someone in the middle of the journey exhausted because of the process. Or if you are someone who has already achieved your goals you can supposedly relate to the points here.

Remember this journey will teach you many things in life which would totally turn you into a different person. But at times you could feel totally down and unfocused and that is because the journey needs a lot of energy from you. 

Many of us think we have to sacrifice many things in our lives like our peace of mind and our relationships; because we think we have to be a hard worker to achieve your dreams. You don't have to work hard sacrificing many things to become successful follow simple steps that will keep you going on throughout the journey.


So these steps will take you through your incredible journey with a lot of self-exploration. As I am working on my dreams I practice these steps a lot to bring a spark into my journey making it less tiring. 

Even though we have passion and interest in what we do to achieve our dream some of us get lost and simply don't know what to do next. We create a loop in our mind that we cannot go anywhere in this journey and stuck there for a long time.

1. IT STARTS WITH YOU

I understand that all of us have a lot of things to do on this journey like we have to do some tasks and figure out what to do next. Somewhere in the middle we forget that the dream is ours, the journey is ours and it all starts with us. To brace yourself for this journey you have to take care of your needs first both mentally and physically. 

For this journey, you have to be in your best form possible and that will be done with some self-care. Eat healthily and go for an exercise to boost your energy and creativity for this journey. Even a small walk for 30 minutes will do wonders and give you that massive energy you need to have for your journey. 

We also need to take care of our mental health, listen to some soft music, some podcasts which can be related to your dream or read a book. Do either one of them which would give you new ideas, inspiration so that you are on top of your game. Invest some time for books because they show you the path and new ideas along your journey. 

Go for a walk, hang out with friends, help others and be childish. Sometimes getting too serious with our journey can make us be irritated and uninspired. Practice a journal or meditation to be more present in your journey. 

Practicing things that will help your mind relax and be more present will help you in all ways possible in your life. Eating healthy doing a few minutes of physical activity and doing what you love to pamper yourself does not take much of your time but also helps you reach your dream faster.

2. BELIEF

As we discussed earlier it starts with you and one thing you have to do in your journey whether you are starting out or you are in the middle of your journey. The reason why you chose your goal and chose to live this journey is you. Say positive words to yourself in front of the mirror after waking up or before going outside to attend that meeting. 

Remember it is a two-way dream, you chose the dream and vice versa always. Some of us doubt ourselves will I be able to do it or I am not the right person to choose this path. Write the positive describing words of yourself and your dream in somewhere you could read often and repeat those words when you are in silence.

 ’I am a person meant to be for this wonderful dream and journey' repeat this sentence every single day and after some days you don't have to do it, this will be registered in your subconscious mind by default. Once in awhile repeat these words to boost your confidence and to get in the presence of your journey. When you believe in yourself you will figure things out naturally and it will just happen in the flow.

It's also important to believe in your journey process as well, your journey could have ups and downs. Problems are thrown at your way because you can solve them single-handedly; the only thing you have to do is not focus on the problem but focus on the possibilities. Your belief in the journey you are most likely to focus on the possibilities which you can take control.

3. PRACTICE GRATITUDE

When you are grateful for the things you have in your life, practicing gratefulness can give you a lot of benefits. It changes your thoughts towards any stressful situation and makes you a positive person. Reaching any dream needs a lot of positive energy throughout and practicing gratefulness will take care of that.

You can practice journal by keeping a gratitude journal where you entry three things you are grateful for every day. Encourage someone or tell someone that you are grateful for their help. 

This one habit will give you a life-changing experience and will take care of your mental health and well-being. Ever since I started practicing gratefulness I have become a more compassionate person over a few days. 

Be grateful that you are alive and energetic. You also have tech support which our previous generations didn't have before. almost anything could be found on Google easily. 

4. CULTIVATE NEW HABITS

Breaking your old life pattern to form new habits will have a lot of impact on your journey. When you introduce yourself to new things or habits in your life you are preparing to learn new experiences and refresh yourself. 

Old habits can be your daily work schedule and habit schedule if you don't have any disciplinary habits it’s high time to start them. Start reading a book or learn a sport or a new dance form; learning new things will keep you on the thrill mode.

I was not practicing journaling person even though I liked journaling; recently I have started keeping a gratitude journal, morning pages journal and to-do-list journaling. Having habits that help you with a relaxing mind will elevate your mind and also boosts creativity. 

Doing meditation will help you more present in your life and also control your mind and emotions. Being more present will help you figure things out without stumbling on your journey. 

Successful people follow a powerful routine ritual which would boost their creativity and activity level. Follow a different routine which you would like to follow after your success, practice that habit from now. 

5. BEING PRESENT

Being present means a lot of things including dwelling in your past, overthinking and complicating the process. Some of us dwell in past memories where they felt the guilt, disappointment, and grudges. We all have a painful past; the best way to tackle the negative experiences from the past is to accept them.  Accepting and learning from your past mistakes will help you get figuring things out in your journey.

Instead of pressuring yourself that you have so much to do try dividing your work into small chunks. If you do that you won't feel that there is so much to do. Give yourself some time to do any work also make sure that the timings you have fixed are practical. 

Note down the things you need to do in your to-do-list and track your work every week; track your daily habits which boosted your efficiency in your work. It is obvious that if we are on social media we waste a lot of time scrolling through the pages unnecessarily. It is better to keep our phones away while we are working.

6. REWARD YOURSELF

It is well known that rewarding ourselves after every target we have achieved every time. You don't have to spend money on material items if you ask me I would suggest you spend money on yourself. Join any class or club to learn things or to do new things.

 This will boost your confidence and also gives you a ton of experience and enjoyment. This helps elevate your mental health making you bring your best in this journey.

If you are a Netflix person you could spend 30 minutes watching your favorite shows. You can also go for self-care or self-pampering date where you spend time with nature to nourish your soul. 

Or you could stay at home enjoy and relax your mind with a cup of coffee or green tea. Spending time with yourself will make you realize many things about yourself.
